Whistler Wedding Vendors We Love
Being a wedding photographer can get a little lonely at times so we are incredibly grateful to be a part of such a supportive wedding community full of wildly talented vendors.
Our first vendor we would like to introduce is Jeremy Postal, also known as the Whistler Wedding Pastor. Sarah’s boyfriend is Jeremy’s son’s snowboarding coach - you get to know people so quickly in this town. Jeremy is a snow chasing, bike riding, rock climbing, wordsmithing, family rearing, parish pastoring hero.
The mountains are his Church. If you are looking for someone to show you the magic of Whistler with extensive knowledge of the outdoors, Jeremy is your guy. From forest hideaways to grand glaciers, we highly recommend that you entrust him to find an environment to match your love for one another.
In 2000, some friends of Jeremy’s in Squamish BC asked if he could officiate their wedding to which he replied, “I don’t know.” He was young and not officially ordained yet but figured out how to marry them (they’re still married!) and, in the process, realized how much he loved helping people tie the knot!
Today, Jeremy is both an officiant and planner. He is one of those special people that cares about his couples - we love that marriage and relationship counselling is part of his services. He’s forever calm and humble as hell, we can’t wait to work with him more!
The next vendor we would like to introduce is Linda from Whistler Wedding Planners. Linda kindly gave us our first introduction into the wedding world. Spring beers in the sunshine at Tapleys Pub resulted in her connecting us with couples in Vancouver and Whistler, thank you Linda!
We love Linda’s warm and friendly approach to her vendors and couples, nothing is too much to ask. She is a grafter and will give all of her energy to ensure that her weddings are orchestrated to perfection!
As a wedding veteran, Linda has planned over 1100 weddings! Her special attention and careful ‘hands on’ approach is the pillar to Whistler Wedding Planners who are strongly inspired by the natural beauty of Whistler.
One of our top wedding venues in Whistler has to be the SLCC - Squamish Lil'wat Cultural Centre.
“Designed to celebrate the marriage of two distinctively different Nations, the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre is a natural setting for the coming together of families and celebrating new partnerships.”
We love First Nations culture and strongly believe it is important to treasure the heritage of our outdoor playground. These communities live in close relationship with the natural world around us and thrive on the bounty of the ocean, the rivers, and the land. Their cultures are grounded in rich, ancient traditions, and continue to grow and evolve in a modern world.
The SLCC is architecturally breathtaking, from the totem poles to large exhibits in the Great Hall, the space makes for a very unique environment to share vows. We love the abundance of glass revealing spectacular views of Blackcomb mountain while allowing lots of light to flow through the space.
The cherry on top for us has to be the forest walk, nestled alongside the SLCC building, the Salish Stroll is a perfect oasis to take couples through for their post ceremony photo walk.
Another venue that never ceases to amaze us is The Sea to Sky Gondola. With breathtaking panoramic views of the coastal mountain range, the Stawamus Chief and Howe Sound, there is no surprise that this location was voted #1 Best Wedding Ceremony Location in the 2019, 2018 and 2017 BC Wedding Awards.
Some of our favourite wedding photographs were taken at the Sea to Sky Gondola. Last winter, Mother Nature was kind enough to show us some sun and low-lying cloud after 20cm of snowfall. It was one of those unreal days where the conditions and couple were perfect and we both could not stop smiling!
Our favourite feature at the gondola is the 100m long Sky Pilot Suspension Bridge. The bridge offers amazing 360 degree views of the area, both up to the high alpine of the mountains above and down to the fjord below.
The Sea to Sky Gondola has just reopened after an unfortunate case of vandalism, we are very excited to return with an engagement shoot planned for the beginning of next month!
