Adventure Session with Anna & Joe
Anna and Joe are sporty creatives with hearts bigger than the mountains they climb. As their housemate, I have the pleasure of admiring their relationship every day which seems to be the perfect balance of ridicule and respect. Disclosure - this was not an engagement session, we decided to do this photo session as a celebration of their completed Canadian permanent residency application.
We decided to head up to the Soo Cabin just north of Whistler for sunset for amazing light and amazing views. We were forced to stop a couple of times on the way up the service road as the dust was catching the light so beautifully. Thankfully, Pierre (Skkrt Op) was there to skid the car to kick up some extra dust. We were losing our minds.
Unfortunately, I took us an hour in the wrong direction which meant we ended up on a logging road alongside some JCBs. As they do with all of my shortcomings, Anna & Joe embraced the inconvenience and we drove another hour (following Joe’s internal compass) eventually ending up at the cabin. On arrival, there were three boys having a fire, one of which lived around the corner from my family home in the UK! They left soon after our arrival which meant we had the spot completely to ourselves. The location of the cabin is so idyllic - panoramic views of Whistler and Blackcomb with the Soo River running through the valley like a racetrack.
We had some food and drinks by the fire then spent the rest of the evening staring at the sky utterly mesmerized by the meteor shower.
Thanks for being so beautiful inside and out, Anna & Joe. We cannot wait until our services are required to celebrate your love again! COUGH.
