Sunset Whistler Engagement Session

Marika & Zakhar have been close friends of mine for the last 5 years. We have traveled down the coast to California together twice. Spent many days in the ocean surfing and on the mountain snowboarding together. And, I would actually like to think I had a role in the two of them getting together. I knew Zakhar through my friend Aari and then met Marika working in Whistler together. When I met Marika I instantly thought that her and Zakhar had a lot in common. With a similar sense of humour and interests I tried to orchestrate them meeting up. We spent many nights together in Whistler and then the two of them started dating a few months later!

Helen and I had started a wedding photography business together in Whistler and were looking to grow our portfolio. We ended up asking Marika and Zakhar to dress up for us and pose as a married couple. They did so after only one month of dating and seemed so natural in front of the camera. To this day I am so impressed that they did this for us so early on in their relationship.

Now, years later, they are engaged! I was so happy when they asked me to take their photos to celebrate their engagement. I love their endless laughter and comfort with one another. It was so so much fun to spend the evening on the mountain at sunset with them.
